This great nine-day adventure out West explores the scenic beauty of Glacier National Park and the heart of the Canadian Rockies.  Explore Glacier and Waterton International Peace Park encompassing both Montana and Alberta.  Witness some of the most majestic mountain ranges in the world, marvel at the crystal blue waters of Lake Louise and search for incredible wildlife.

Day One
Board Amtrak’s Empire Builder in Milwaukee to begin your journey to Montana’s Big Sky Country.

Day Two
Arrive in Shelby, Montana and enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers.

Day Three
Make your way to Glacier National Park. A highlight is the drive along the Going-to-the-Sun Road; one of the most scenic roads in North America. The guided tour aboard Glacier’s historic jammer buses offers awe-inspiring views as the tops of the buses roll back.
 
Day Four
Board a private coach and embark on an exciting trek into the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Your destination is the resort town of Banff for a three-night stay.

Day Five
After breakfast, you’ll cross the Continental Divide to experience the mountains, lakes and canyons of Yoho and Banff National parks.  The tour will encompass beautiful Emerald Lake.  A visit to the famous Valley of Ten Peaks and Moraine Lake will complete the amazing day.

Day Six
Travel north along the scenic Columbia Ice fields Parkway as it winds between snow-domed peaks and immense, hanging glaciers. Feel adventurous? Take an exhilarating ride across the Athabasca Glacier—the greatest mass of ice outside the Arctic Circle.  En route back to Banff, stop to see the turquoise waters of Peyto Lake.

Day Seven
Heading south, you’ll arrive at Waterton Lakes National Park. Boasting a chain of deep glacial lakes, this gem offers an unbelievable variety of plants and wildlife.

Day Eight
After eight wonderful days, the tour culminates with the train ride back to Milwaukee. Sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Day Nine
Arrive in Milwaukee where a private coach is ready to return you to Dubuque.
